For the last five years, Northside’s early education teams have been working with psychologist Beth Macgregor to embed trauma-informed approaches in all the work we do.

Northside’s Early Childhood Centres have remained operating throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly for children experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage. This has been possible due to the incredible work of our early childhood educator teams and Centre Directors.

It has also highlighted the importance of Northside’s professional development focus on trauma-informed practice. For the last five years, Northside’s early education teams have been working with psychologist Beth Macgregor to embed trauma-informed approaches in all the work we do.

In 2022, this work is continuing with a focus on further building the skills of our educators to work together in supporting children to understand their emotions and remain safe.

Northside is a strong supporter of the ACT Government’s Early Childhood Strategy, and will continue to ensure we are able to support young children experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage through access to early education.
