Every night, more than 116,000 Australians don’t have a place to call home. That’s one in every 200 people.
More than 1600 Canberrans are homeless on any given night. Whether they are sleeping rough, staying temporarily with friends or sleeping in unsafe overcrowded dwellings. They are without a home.
Homeless Connect Canberra is based on a one-stop-shop model of service provision to homeless people. We bring together business and community groups to provide free services to homeless people for a day. Homeless Connect Canberra works for the wellbeing, survival, and protection of people who are experiencing homelessness in the ACT by connecting them with service providers and a supportive community.
Homeless Connect – Canberra will take place on August 8 at Pilgrim House, home of the Early Morning Centre which provides breakfast, support and referral every day of the year for people experiencing homelessness.
