ConnXtions – Training and Job readiness program

ConnXtions provides opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people to study, increase skills or embark on a new career path. Delivered as a holistic, wrap around support service that includes and celebrates family and children, this program is a great opportunity to expand your career and grow your knowledge. Delivered in partnership with the CIT Yurauna Centre, ConnXtions provides eligible students with a Community Services Certificate III. More information about the Yurauna Centre can be found here.
If you are interested in working with your community, advancing your skill set and looking to take the next step in your career, ConnXtions is for you. ConnXtions is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People living in the ACT. This program is delivered using a holistic service model, making it easier for you to participate in full. Northside will assist you with transport, supervision and activities for your children during study sessions and other additional support services. The Yurauna Centre will provide a safe classroom, qualified Indigenous teaching staff, and a fantastic learning environment.
The program includes:
- accredited training in Community Services (Cert III)
- wraparound support to assist families
- onsite activities and supervision for children, while you are in training (four months – four years) with a clear focus on early education and Reggio Emilia
- work experience and mentoring
- transport to and from your training
- job readiness support and mentoring
